Valentina Sgro, award-winning author of a series of entertaining and educational books featuring fictional professional organizer Patience Oaktree, will be at the Abilene Public Library for a book talk on Thursday, July 11th at 10:00 am.
Val Sgro has been a professional organizer for 15 years, serving on the Board of Directors of the two largest professional organizing associations in the world – NAPO (the National Association of Professional Organizers) and ICD (the Institute for Challenging Disorganization). She also holds a law degree from Michigan University.
Val’s first book, Organize Your Family’s Schedule In No Time, was published in 2004 and won a iParenting Media Award. Her first novel, Patience and the Porsche, won the honor of Best Organizing Book at the 2008 Los Angeles Organizing Awards. And in 2009, Val received NAPO’s President’s Award.
Val Sgro and her illustrator, Carl Cormany are on a book tour on the Lincoln Highway from Ohio to Nebraska, placing free copies of her novels in Little Free Libraries along the way.
