to fill a part time Youth Library Position
The Abilene Public Library is seeking an individual for a part-time library assistant position in the youth department. Library assistants help patrons find library materials, assist in planning and implementing library programs and handle reference questions using excellent customer service. The position is seasonal through the summer, with 21 hours per week and has regular Tues-Fri 9-1 and Sat 9-2 hours. In the fall, there is the potential for the position to become permanent. The hours would decrease to 13 hours per week with regular Thurs-Fri 9-1 and Sat 9-2 hours. The availability to substitute is desirable. Starting pay for this position is $12.79. Desired qualifications include a high school degree or equivalent and customer service experience. Library experience and some college or equivalent education are preferred.
