Understanding Hoopla Changes
Our library has implemented a daily spending cap with Hoopla. As a pay-per-use service, they charge our library a certain amount that varies per item every time an item is checked out. This pricing model makes the costs unpredictable and difficult to budget. Creating daily caps and reducing monthly title limits allows us to stay within our designated budget while still offering this popular service.
You may receive this message when attempting to check out an item: “The collective daily borrow limit set by your library has been reached and will reset at midnight. Please browse and add titles to favorites so you can easily access them after midnight.” This means the budget for the day has been met, and check outs are paused for the day. The day resets at midnight.
You still have 4 check outs per month. Plan ahead for your check outs. Bonus Borrows are available the last 7 days of each month and do not count towards your monthly check out or the daily spending cap!
We appreciate your understanding. These changes help keep Hoopla available for everyone.
